What are typical LCD TV screen sizes?
Generally speaking plasma screens come in larger screen sizes than LCD TVs. The reason is to do with the fact that LCD screens tend to lose quality when they are really big (e.g. more than 37 inches) when watched from a typical viewing distance.
When LCDs are really big and watched from close up you may notice some pixellation going on, especially around fast moving action on the TV, such as football matches.
It is simply that the number of pixels used to make up the screen is not yet ideal for mega screens - so my advice is, if you are going to go for a really large TV (37 inches and higher) go for plasma screen.
Plasma screen TVs can be huge and still display great quality. Plasma TVs are available to buy in sizes of up to 70” (at last count but this could be changing so watch this space).
The majority are actually between 37 inches and 50 inches. The most common size for a plasma TV is 42” - which is still pretty decent size.
LCD TVs tend to be slightly smaller, and mostly range in size from 15 inches to 45 inches. A recommended size range for a good modest, but still totally viewable, LCD TV is 28 to 32 inches.
